Security Light Initiative 2026

East Lothian Care & Repair Charitable Trust has been successful in receiving funding from Tesco Blue Token Scheme for the provision of outdoor security lights and the cost of installation will be included too, so the work will be completed at no cost to you.  This funding is for both if you require an external security light that is no longer working and needs replaced, or you don't have on there at the moment and need a new installation.  In a rural area such as East Lothian, such a simple provision can make an enormous difference to Care & Repair clients and help homeowners to remain feeling safe and secure at home.  If you are aged 60 + (or 50+ if you have a disability), please contact the service on 01620 828445 to discuss further or via the contact form on the website.  This offer is available to both existing and new clients.  This funding is time limited!

FREE Carbon Monoxide Detector

If you would like a Carbon Monoxide Alarm/Detector fitted free of charge please call us on 01620 828445.  You will also receive information about what action to take if the alarm sounds and what the various chirps mean.  There is another very detailed leaflet which comes with the unit.

What is Carbon Monoxide?

Carbon Monoxide (CO) is a highly poisonous gas which has no smell, no taste and no colour.  It can be produced when any fossil fuel such as coal, wood or natural gas does not burn correctly and excess CO is produced which is poisonous.  Because you can’t see it, taste it or smell it, it is highly dangerous and in certain conditions can kill quickly and without warning.
